This course explores great American writers, both Christian and secular, and their literary works which reflect changing America. Students will learn to analyze and interpret literature through the reading and discussion of prose, poetry, and sermons. They will develop communication skills as they synthesize and express their thoughts in written and creative forms: discussions, essays and term papers, creative projects, and tests.  


Prerequisite: General Literature and Composition or equivalent course


This course fulfills: American Literature (10 credits); Bible (10 credits)


Discount:  Students are strongly encouraged to take this course concurrently with American History & Government and will receive a $50 discount when enrolled in both courses.
