This course provides a strong mathematical foundation in second year Algebra. Concepts include: algebraic vocabulary, systems of linear equations involving absolute value, functions, graphing, exponents; polynomial functions with factoring, rational expressions, roots, radicals and complex numbers; quadratic equations and functions with inequalities; inverse, exponential, and logarithmic functions; nonlinear functions, conic sections, and nonlinear systems. Basic note taking and study techniques for mathematics are reviewed and discussed. This course will also include an online component for homework and quizzes through the use of MyMathLab.

Prerequisite: Algebra I  (Geometry recommended)
Suggested grade: 11th
